Master of Science in Health Sciences in Immunohematology & Biotechnology
The program has been designed to provide certified blood bankers with a strong foundation in Immunohematology as well as molecular biology and biotechnology. Graduates of this program develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for transfusion medicine research positions within hospital labs or blood centers or to become supervisors or managers in a blood banking laboratory. Over the years, there have been significant advances in biotechnologies. Although conventional lab methods are still utilized in the clinical laboratory, more labs are starting to integrate molecular-based tests and to replace some of the more traditional technologies with cutting edge methods.
