GW's online Master of Science in Health Sciences in Clinical Operations and Healthcare Management (MSHS-COHM) prepares mid-level healthcare professionals and leaders to take the next step in their healthcare professional and leadership careers by learning the core competency operational skills needed in today's complex healthcare industry.

This flexible online program, with low faculty/student ratios, teaches you about healthcare services' nature, including the demographic, social, policy, economic, equity and equality, technological, legal, population health, strategic communication, health informatics, global health, quality and patient safety, strategic planning, and historical factors that influence the present and future direction of healthcare. The program offers supervised fieldwork (practicum) in clinical operations and health management.

This program has adopted a modified competency model based on the Health Leadership Competency Model from the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL). These competencies are integrated into the learning objectives of the program curriculum. The program courses are designed to meet the curriculum and learning standards set by the National Center on Healthcare Leadership (NCHL) Competency Model 3.0, the American College Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Competency Assessment Tool, and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Body of Knowledge Competency Model.

The program faculty's goal is to prepare students to become future leaders in healthcare operations and management to understand the environmental factors and gain the administrative and business skills required to be innovative and successful in the field.
