Post-Master's Certificate: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
The Post-Master's Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate introduces students to the body of knowledge and skills necessary to practice as a nurse practitioner. Tailored for MSN-prepared nurses looking for an on-line curriculum, the AGPCNP Certificate gives students access to interdisciplinary faculty members.
The coursework includes didactic and clinical experiences that focus on the primary care needs of patients, families, and communities. Specialty content includes advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, advanced health assessment and diagnostic reasoning, and diagnosis and management of common primary care health concerns. It provides the theoretical and practical foundations for nurses to expand their scope of practice.
Students pursuing the Post-Graduate APRN Certificate: AGPCNP must complete 625 clinical hours at a site in their area. Preceptor and site information must be submitted to the school for approval before a student's clinical work can begin. Clinical rotations begin during a students' first semester.
